The Chura Abugida Kene-Tibebawi Mahiber (CAKTM) is a dynamic, youth-led organization re-registered under the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (FDRE) Agency for Civil Society Organizations with the official registry number 2808 in 2019. CAKTM is grounded in the belief that youth are the cornerstone of societal progress and positive transformation. CAKTM empowers young people to be agents of change, transforming not only their lives but also the broader community.
CAKTM has successfully implemented 34 projects funded by different organizations such as USAID OTI/ESP EU, CIDA, REST, LPI, ACSOT, GTZ IS, WORLD BANK, and a lot others for that have directy benefited more than 1.6 million young people (beneficiaries) the past decade. This success stems from the organization’smulti-sectoral approach to addressing critical regional challenges.

CAKTM management and structure
Currently, the organization is equipped with all respective equipment and 15 full-time and 3
part-time employees. The sources of funds for the association are membership contribution, donations, recreation related services and income generating activities.

The Organizational structure
● The general assembly: provide overall organizational
direction, elect board members and approve annual reports
and plans
● Board: having five members the board provides strategic
leadership in areas of organizational policy and strategic
planning, annual planning and performance management,
representing the association in various forums, facilities and
the engagement with government partners. In addition to
this the board closely follows the action of the management.
● Management committee: It is accountable/reports to the
board and responsible for the day to day leadership.
Membership
CAKTM is a member of the Alliance of Civil Society Organizations of Tigray (ACSOT); the
umbrella organization of non-state actors: which more than 72 are local civil society
organizations working in Tigray. Besides, CAKTM is also an active member of the regional
protection cluster, currently led by UNHCR, and Child protection cluster led by UNICEF.
CAKTM is also member of the African Youth Association.
